Looking to the Future

Immediate Plans:

  • Pitch LeasingThe council has requested a “pitch licence,” which allows us to build dugouts, fencing, etc., until the lease is completed. Other clubs have done this already. We’re already building dugouts and roped-off areas to enhance the pitch’s appearance.
  • Pitch ImprovementsExtensive drainage and new grass seeding for both pitches have been agreed upon with John McConnell from the council. This means we’ll soon have two pitches with excellent playing surfaces!
  • Dressing RoomsA new shower system has been installed, and we’ll be doing cosmetic work (e.g., paintwork, new clothes hooks). We’ll also regain access to the hockey rooms for storage and a physio bench.
  • FloodlightsFloodlights will be reintroduced to part of the pitch area. We have options for Thursday evening training, and Alan Johnson from the council is exploring further options to assist us.
  • Sponsors & New KitsWe are reaching out to close to 50 sponsors for the upcoming season, and new kits have been ordered. Training and friendly matches are scheduled & confirmed ahead of the new season. Our committee, along with the first and second teams, are working hard to relaunch the club both on and off the field.

Long Term Plans:

  • New FacilityThe council has confirmed funding of £2.5 million for the new facility. Despite delays due to COVID-19 and a lack of government, we are high on the priority list, and our councillors support our project bid. The facility has been approved at the council level, and all groundwork is complete
